Paige Spiranac has launched a new episode of her YouTube series, “Hot Birds,” featuring her long-time friend and fellow golf content creator, Tisha Alyn. The collaboration, which sees the pair playing golf and discussing their shared history, has attracted attention from various media outlets, including The Sun, which reported on Spiranac’s “on-course outfit” for her “latest side hustle.”
Reunited on the Course
Spiranac and Alyn, who have known each other for over a decade, reunited at Monarch Beach Golf Links in California for the 40-minute episode. Their friendship spans from playing junior and college golf together to a period as professional golfers, and later, navigating the early days of social media content creation at the same time, according to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
The latest “Hot Birds” instalment, titled “Golf bestie and I get way too honest ft. Tisha Alyn,” shows the duo engaging in a friendly game, reminiscing about their experiences. They also included an “OG Golf Girl Fit Check,” with Spiranac showcasing a white Alo tennis skirt and a blue patterned halter top, while Alyn wore unreleased items from her own line, including a navy-and-pink polo-style shirt dress, silver-studded G/FORE sneakers, and a matching glove.
Quitting Professional Golf
During their round, Spiranac and Alyn candidly discussed the challenging end to their professional golf careers. As reported by Where Is The Buzz, both women competed in the same qualifying school (Q school), which Spiranac described as “literal hell” due to the intense pressure and extreme heat, often reaching 125 degrees Fahrenheit (51 degrees Celsius) in Palm Springs during August.
They recalled a specific moment during the Colorado Open after Q school where, sitting on a picnic table, they mutually realised they could no longer sustain the demanding lifestyle of professional golf. Alyn, who started playing golf at three years old and earned a full scholarship to college golf, felt it was her responsibility to try for a professional career, but ultimately both decided to transition away from it. Social media was not initially seen as a viable career path, with brands hesitant to pay for influence, particularly for women, according to Alyn.
In a fun moment from the video, Spiranac dared Alyn that if she made a difficult putt, they would have to jump into the ocean. Spiranac sank the shot, but despite their intentions, they were unable to complete the dare as the nearby beach area was closed off, providing a humorous end to the segment.
Fan Reception
Fans have responded positively to the video, filling the YouTube comments with praise for the athletes’ relaxed demeanour and friendly energy. Comments included sentiments such as, “Awesome to see the girls out on the golf course,” and “That was the most fun video I’ve watched about golf ever! What a great team,” as highlighted by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
