Orphan Black Lands HBO Max, Peacock Deal for Streaming

The critically acclaimed science-fiction drama series Orphan Black is now available to stream in the U.S. on both HBO Max and Peacock, following new co-exclusive deals. All five seasons of the Emmy-winning show have been added to the platforms.

The series, which first debuted in 2013, has been frequently recognised as one of the best sci-fi shows of the 21st century. It stars Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany in multiple roles, most notably as Sarah Manning.

Plot and Acclaim

Orphan Black follows Sarah Manning, a street-smart outsider who discovers she is one of many identical clones after witnessing the suicide of a woman who looks just like her. As reported by Deadline, Sarah and her clone sisters embark on a journey to uncover the truth of their identities, why they were created, and fight for their survival against nefarious forces.

Tatiana Maslany’s performance, portraying 17 different clones throughout the series, garnered significant praise, earning her three Emmy Award nominations and one win. The show itself received a 2014 Peabody Award for Drama, among other accolades.

Streaming History and Franchise Extensions

The new streaming arrangement was secured by Boat Rocker Studios and BBC Studios for the U.S. market. The series was previously available on Netflix for a year, from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, according to ScreenRant. Despite having concluded its run, Orphan Black maintained a dedicated fanbase, even making it into the Top 10 Streaming charts in October last year, eight years after its finale and without extensive marketing.

Beyond the original five seasons, the Orphan Black universe has expanded with additional content. A spin-off series, Orphan Black: Echoes, premiered in 2024, set 37 years after the original and starring Krysten Ritter. However, this spin-off was cancelled after one season. Additionally, an audio drama podcast, Orphan Black: The Next Chapter, was released in 2021, featuring Maslany’s narration and serving as a direct sequel to the main series.
